John Stephen Carnaby Street London silk necktie. Dark blue background with light paisley design accented with lime green and lighter shade of royal blue. A fabulous rare tie, high quality smooth silk with no sheen. Stephen rose to become a fashion icon in the late 50s, dominating the male fashion industy. Known for his flamboyant and colorful designs, Stephen was the leader of the '60s male "peacock revolution." Dressing the likes of The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Stephen influenced a generation of young males with hip, eye-catching fashions. His successful chain of shops on Carnaby Street in London dubbed him as The King of Carnaby.
This rare tie is in excellent vintage condition, showing little wear. There is a small spot on the back of the tip. See photo. This isn't particularly noticeable on the front due it being on the dark blue. You might want to have this dry cleaned, but it wouldn't be necessary. This is a shorter length almost 56 long and 4 inches wide.
